"What have we done?"; the cry heard round the world at precisely 2:30 PM EST this fine Sunday afternoon.
Five people, all working on a new technology that will "revolutionize what we know about the world we live in" looked regret directly in its gaping maw, and we're swallowed into it. The device was described as a top secret probe used to explore the deepest depths of the shire, places we never thought we'd see, places our Dynmap Government Satellites refuse to go. In a desperate attempt to make what is behind those invisible, oppressive barriers visible these engineers sent their sturdy, relentless probe on the journey of the century. As they watched it chug along into the sunset, they reminisced on their good times working on and experimenting on their little probe to make it the perfect little engine that could he is today. And as they looked with mixed happiness and separation-sadness, a thought popped into their heads; where will he go? So they linked to their satellites and watched fondly as their little probe uncovered vast new lands untouched and never-before-seen lands. It was beautiful, really. And they thought "we should make more. This is a beautiful thing and we need to see more of this gorgeous, forbidden land. We must break the chains of oppression and find the truth behind why we are here and why these invisible walls confine us". But they're excitement was all too short-lived as a morbid thought crossed their collective minds. "Where will it go?" The question had taken a whole new meaning. What if it found things they should never have seen? What if it destroys the world because the bounds they live within are the reinforced area on the delicate fabric of the universe? They frenzied to find a way to stop their contraption but he went on boldly. He was relentless and they now realized that, in their foolishness the engineers failed to add an emergency shutdown to their amazing contraption. He is still chugging along now, charting the uncharted, pressing the delicate boundaries of the world we live in. Who knows what this little machine could do? Who knows what kind of Pandora's box will open. There was talk of sending a deep-space reconnaissance team to disable the machine manually but the dangers of that are unknown and far more frightening, as the dangers of the machine itself are still a mystery. Reporting for what could be the last news report any of us see, this is Monkeyman for Shire Global News. Have a wonderful afternoon. -x- Transmission Complete -x-

Probe destroyed by TechnoCore sentries, sent forth from beyond the Void Which Binds. Shire authorities shut down any further probe-quests, fearing increased tensions with the TechnoCore.0
