Riverwood- Sunday morning the Riverwood Department of Food and Agriculture, along with the Department of Disease Control and Prevention (RDCP) issued a recall for all wheat produced in Pieskville due to multiple confirmed cases of Samgasmi resulting from persons consuming wheat infected with it. The recall came after a four year old Riverwoodian girl died at the Laurelian University Teaching Hospital Saturday afternoon. "We took her to the Riverwood General Clinic because she had high fever and couldn't keep down any food or liquids," Janet Redinbach, the girls mother said. "Shortly after the doctor visited her, they told us she had Samgasmi and needed emergency transportation to Laurelian but it was too late. The doctors at the hospital said the disease had progressed to the point it was terminal and all they could do was make her comfortable."
"Samgasmi is a Multi Drug Resistant Bacteria commonly found in raw fish but can rarely be found on plants", said Joseph Hanks, lead bacterial researcher at the RDCP. "Common symptoms of infection will start off with a mild fever and nausea, rapidly progressing into a high fever, internal hemorrhaging, organ failure, seizures and eventually death. Chances of survival after the first 12 hours of symptoms are less than 50%, and after 24 hours it is less than 1%. Thankfully, the disease can only be spread by ingestion of an infected food, such as wheat."
Health officials recommend discarding any wheat that originated or been in contact with any wheat from Riverwood. Officials also recommend washing all raw foods before consumption and ensuring any cooked foods have reached the recommended temperatures.
A candle light vigil will be held in Hay Plaza Thursday night.

Representatives from the Solurian Empire's Food Health and Safety Department released this statement following news of the outbreak:
"Our interest in keeping this outbreak contained is of the highest priority, due in part to the safety of citizens of all nations and in part to the importance of wheat as a primary export of Sol.
As such, we are going to be reducing wheat harvest and export, as well as implementing additional safety control protocols until we are certain none of the farms outside Sol and Nilseth have been contaminated. Until then, expect pumpkin, melon, beetroot, carrot, potato, and dye exports from Sol as usual. Wheat exports will continue from our smaller, more isolated farming locations, as well as release of emergency grain stores to ensure a steady supply of wheat to the Solurian Empire's biggest wheat importers. This will be implemented until further notice, so be ensured that the slightly coarse feel of wheat and grain products in the coming days is due to the airtight and sterile storage of the emergency supplies.
For now, exports of fresh wheat and grain from Sol will take place in large scale batches on the 25th and 30th of April, and on the 5th, 15th, and 25th of May. These batches will ave been cleared for consumption and will be perfectly edible. By the 25th of May, health and safety professionals will have confirmed the safety or contamination of our wheat crop and grain stores. As of now, no contamination has been found in prior exports of wheat, so officials expect such shipments to be safe for consumption. If symptoms of Samgasmi are present, health officials implore the sick to visit the hospital immediately for treatment and testing.
While officials are fairly certain this outbreak is isolated to Pieskville, the Solurian Empire is taking every precaution to ensure safe and edible food shipments across the Shire."10 -
Fortunately, Oranjestad has been a Gluten-Free Zone for years now, after nebbers read a dubious blog called "Mommy Monday's" about a correlation between gluten consumption, vaccines, and obesity.
On an unrelated note, neb was also introduced to Glammer-Jammer® eyelid jewelry parties and their revolutionary Facebook-based 'reverse funnel system' selling structure by the same blog. He's proud to say he's hosted 7 parties of his own and has sold $45 in products and convinced a friend to be a seller for him as well. Meanwhile, he still has $7000 worth of merchandise piled in his garage he still needs to sell.8
