If you have Bedrock/Win10 edition you can now connect to The Shire and play with those who are running Java. The Shire is over 10 years old now, and some of our older members now have children. If they've got an iPad or other tablet that can run MC, they can join! And I think Bedrock edition on mobile devices is free too!

To connect to the server, you need to be running at least Minecraft Java Edition 1.16.5. Bedrock edition clients can connect, however this is not fully supported. Connect to 'play.shirecraft.us' https://shirecraft.us/play

Have you tried logging out of the Minecraft launcher (top-left corner), then logging back in? Does this happen when you connect to other servers? Make sure you're using an un-modified version of the Minecraft launcher from https://minecraft.net/download.
