Error with joining forum

Somebody I know, Jimjamjoller, has tried to create a forum account. He received the confirmation email, and when he clicks the link, he is taken to a page with a red bar saying "We cannot confirm your email." He has requested a new email, and it has not come. Anyone know why this might be?
