ORANJESTAD: Lord Nebbers today said his military would start delivering humanitarian aid to Havana amid reports that the leaderless city's infrastructure has deteriorated to such a point that basic services can no longer be provided to residents. Widespread looting, disease, and starvation have been witnessed in recent weeks on social media.
The military's humanitarian mission to Havana will include aircraft and naval vessels, thousands of tons of food, and hundreds of infrastructure and construction workers, nebbers said. Aid has already begun to arrive - Oranjestad forces have already occupied and repaired Havana Fortress as a temporary base of operations.
Neb's promise of aid comes as famed Havana author/illustrator and resident Mikhail Jojoba expressed frustration with the pace of the International response to the Havana crisis. The Caldecott Medal winning Jojoba has touted his closeness to world leaders and appeared dismayed at their failure to intervene in the crisis.
"Yesterday I heard a Riverwood politician say, 'we are all Havanans now'," Jojoba told Shire Global News today. "Well, very nice, you know, cheering for us to hear that, but okay, it's time to pass from this. From words to deeds," the author added.
Lord Nebbers did not set any timeframe for the intervention, or when, if ever, Oranjestad troops will leave the city. "These people are in dire need of help - we'll stay as long as we need to". In two tweets this morning, outspoken Oranjestad critic Julian Melange slammed the leader. "This is another thinly veiled plot by @lord_nebbers to expand the nation's borders", "reports of hollowed-out, crumbling Havana buildings is Fake News".
The Havana intervention comes just weeks after two Enpeecee villages were discovered and claimed for Oranjestad, 'Garbanzo' and 'Blackmill'.
